However, my point was just to show that although Ashley apparently thinks that Fox News is "evil" for pointing out her sister's weight gain, that people in the liberal community are talking about it too. I just want to set the record straight. In case you haven't noticed, I kind of like Jessica and it really bothered me that Obama or anyone else would say something like that. I think it's kind of rude and I wouldn't want anyone saying that about me. However, as someone pointed out, she has put herself out there as a "sex symbol", knowing they would follow her every move. So he gives the impression that he may not agree with the headline. Even if he does, people that get their panties all in a bunch over it have a massive problem sorting out priorities. I know your sister is probably bummed right now (and for no reason, she is beautiful and cool at any weight - AND she's not even fat - and if she was who cares - she's cool at any weight - but more importantly weight should not be an issue and it's disgusting that it is) BUT I was glad to see CNN debating how women are judged by society. It's a topic that needs to be debated more often. Fire any stylist who tries to put you into high-waisted jeans!) I am not a stereotypical young fan, and I have never posted anything on a celebrity’s site. I am a 37-year-old nurse, wife and mother of two children—as well as an ex-model and actress. I, too, spent years on an incredibly strict diet, working out 2 hours a day/7 days a week in order to stay a size 0 and keep working—and I wasn’t anything close to being a celebrity. I walked away from it about 10 years ago, because I was just tired of it all. Yes, most celebrities (especially the women) depend on their physical appearance to earn and maintain their status. Their physicality is part of their brand. However, NO artist intentionally sets out to embrace completely unrealistic and unhealthy physical standards. Singers, actors, dancers, models, etc. are literally forced to be underweight before they can get a job/contract. The sad truth is that the public won’t buy their work if they see (gasp!) flesh under a jaw or thighs that (eww!) touch each other. If artists want to do the work that they love and actually make a decent living, they have to conform. However, Jessica is insanely successful. She doesn’t need to shove herself into clothing designed for a 10-year-old boy with a rack in order to work. I would like to see her and other successful artists stay healthy and strong. Jessica, Beyonce and Kate Winslet shouldn’t have to be oddities in entertainment. It would do celebrities and the rest of us women (and the men who love us) a great service to stop saying they stay so thin thanks to “chicken, veggies, yoga and cleansing,” when the reality is, “less than 10 grams of fat a day, cigarettes, Adderall, painful 2 hour workouts every day, laxatives, enemas and vomiting.” By doing so, they can begin to change the warped standards the public and entertainment industry demand. The cruelty and abuse that Jessica had to endure yesterday was inexcusable. If it can give her any peace of mind whatsoever, she’s not the first or the last woman to be belittled for not being a walking skeleton. She’s not alone, not among celebrities, and not among all women. To Jessica: go out for a margarita and try to shrug off the criticism. Ashlee sings from the heart and she is very talented, funny, unique,and she rocks. We all have the power to make our own choices and live our life as we choose. Your not famous and you have no idea what she goes thru. If she chooses not to talk about her personal life thats her right and you have no business critisizing her for that.

I'm not being funny, but Ashlee does have talent, she might have made mistakes, but everybody does, we're only human, and she's learned from her mistakes,'cause look at her now, she's got a awesome new Album, she's got married to Pete, and she's got a baby on the way, and I agree with her lying about it because, who wants paparazzi and crap following her and the baby around constantly, she wanted to keep the baby safe, I think Ashlee, and Pete rock, and I wish them the best of luck for the baby, because they deserve it. And to come onto Ashlee's official site, to criticise her is really pathetic and stupid to be honest, so get over yourself and leave Ashlee alone.

i am in my last year of my 4 year college, and i have studied women's studies. i noticed that in ASHLEE SIMPSON'S first album, she tried that whole riot girl thing, to be yourself, no matter what, well then months went by, and she started to look more and more like a barbie doll. I found it really disturbing that she was giving such a shallow message to the young girls in the world that are definately influenced by her. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to get plastic surgery, and to feel good about yourself. it is a very bad thing however to put off that you should love yourself the way you are, and then go and do the opposite. i think she has absolutely 0 talent, she is produced, she probably has never known what "real" suffering is like. she is a FRAUD.

I have a been a huge fan of Ashlee's since her first record and was even lucky enough to see her live once! I can't believe that people would post such awful things on her site. Sure she's made mistakes (and if you think you haven't then clearly you're the one who thinks her "shit doesn't stink"). The fact that she's been able to keep going and hold her head up is a testament to her strength (and not her "self-denial").
